Get to Know Dr. Dobbs-Marsh
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY 32048) and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. I provide online and in-person therapy for individuals, couples, and families. My approach is collaborative, integrating evidence-based treatments within a person-centered approach.
Each person is a unique constellation informed by their cultural, familial, and social experiences. You are the best expert on yourself. And yet, it can sometimes be difficult to see, understand, and overcome the obstacles that keep you stuck in pain and distress. I see my role as a supportive presence in your journey, helping you draw on your strengths to chart a path forward. My approach is collaborative, emotion-focused, interpersonally-oriented, and culturally adapted. I couple these values with cutting-edge evidence-based techniques that provide you with the tools to move courageously toward the life you want to live.
I specialize in treating adults and adolescents struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, difficulties in relationships, and challenges related to identity (e.g. age, race/ethnicity, spirituality, sexuality, and gender) and I work with couples and families navigating relational challenges and stuck points. I completed my doctoral internship at UCLA, where I served on the Transgender Wellness Team, improving access to affirming care for people of all genders. As a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine, I specialized in DBT, Couple Therapy, and evidence-based treatments for PTSD and complex trauma. In addition to private practice, I provide individual and group care through Stanford University's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences as a staff psychologist within Stanford’s Comprehensive DBT Program and the Stanford PTSD Clinic.
