Individual Therapy
Therapy Session

Individual psychotherapy is the core of my practice. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, sessions are currently conducted exclusively over confidential, HIPAA-compliant software.  I utilize gold-standard evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual person, integrating my training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Relational and Dynamic Therapies. Common reasons for seeking individual therapy include anxiety, depression, life transition, concerns related to aspects of identity (e.g. race/ethnicity, spirituality, gender, and sexuality), and difficulties managing emotions and/or relationships.

Trauma Treatment

Traumatic experiences can lead people to feel stuck in the past, out of control, and unable to move forward. Prolonged Exposure (PE) is the gold standard evidence-based treatment to support people in overcoming past trauma and climbing bravely toward a more fulfilling life. PE has repeatedly demonstrated remarkable efficacy in the research literature and it works quickly, with those who commit fully to PE experiencing recovery from PTSD within just 8-15 sessions. I have received in-depth training and certification in PE from Emory University and would be honored to support you in your healing process.

Couple & Family Therapy

Relationships can be one of the most rewarding and challenging parts of our lives. When challenges seem too difficult to solve, therapy may be helpful. At times, couples and families may benefit from exploring challenges and learning skills to improve communication and problem-solving. Couple and family therapy focuses on relationships as the place where solutions can be developed and challenges can be overcome. I work to support couples and families in understanding stuck points, building resiliency, reestablishing connection, and navigating normal life experiences and difficult challenges together.

Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence can be a complex and tumultuous time as teens navigate identity development, individuation, changes in family and peer relationships, and the transition from childhood toward greater independence. Some teens may benefit from having a supportive connection outside their family and friends. My broad experience supporting adolescents and young adults within community and university settings provides me with a developmental lens that attends to the adolescent's needs in the context of the family and social environment. Areas of specialization include: sexual orientation and gender identity development and trans/non-binary affirming care.

Modern Office

I provide consultation services to other clinical professionals. Consultation focus areas may include affirming care for LGBTQ+ patients, use of self in therapeutic process, developing skills with new treatments, enhancing patient learning and therapeutic integration, enriching case conceptualization with complex presentations, and addressing therapeutic impasse.
